Drugstore Glowy Skin Makeup Look
When it comes to makeup I am ALWAYS here for a good beat, a slay, a face for the gawdssss hunty! BUT I also really really love a simple, lightweight look, a makeup-no makeup look, a soft glow. The latter is my pretty much my every day face and definitely my go to summer look because let’s be honest who really wants to wear layers of foundation when it’s 90 degrees on thick humidity, not I.
Well, I teamed up with Walmart for their #HereForEveryBeauty campaign, celebrating all the beautiful faces that make-up America. This new campaign aims to show that everyone is welcomed and there is a brand and budget for every beauty. I love that the campaign also showcases how important our own individuality is and how it plays a role in this beauty space.
I pulled together my favorite skincare and makeup products from Walmart that helped me achieve this look. The best thing about these products is that they can be used to do a minimal makeup glow or full face, whatever you want. Oh and if you didn’t already know Walmart has EVERYTHING, I mean honestly I spent under $100 but the beauty junkie in me wanted to go all out and drop a few stacks haha.
First up, skincare
If you don’t take anything else from this post please know that good skin foundation to any good makeup look. I prioritize working towards improving my skin so makeup application is easy peasy.
Starting with a clean face I apply the Yes To Grapefruit Brightening Vitamin C Glow Boosting Sheet Mask. I am sheet mask obsessed because they are jam packed with amazing serums and give your skin a nice boost. Since we are going for a glow thats why I chose the Brightening mask. After massaging the excess in to my skin making sure not to skip over my neck and decolletage, they need love too sis.
I then applied the Aveeno Positively Radiant MaxGlow Infusion drops and face moisturizer which also has SPF, winnnn!
One thing I love about a glowy look is accenting my shoulders and collar bone. Especially it I’m wears a color should or camisole top. I like using Coppertone’s Glow SPF and then dusting a litter Masterchrome Highlighter on top.
Now let’s get into this makeup!
I used my favorite primer and brow pencil/powder to start
I start with my eyes since I’ll be using gold and glitter so I can wipe away any fall out. I used Maybelline’s The City Mini Eyeshadow Palette x Shayla. I found mind in the store but you can find similar ones online. I used the bronzer color all over my lid, the berry color in my crease and the bright glitter gold in the corner and tear ducts to brighten up my eyes.
I stannnn for a good lash, especially Adrell wispies! I applied those with a few coats of Loreal’s Lash Paradise on the top and bottom lashes to open my eyes before working on complexion.
Using Milani’s Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation + Concealer, I spot treat any uneven marks on my face. I could totally use this foundation for a full face as well but my goal for this look is the least amount of makeup and the least amount of time. I don’t have much hyper pigmentation on my face but if you do use a corrector to color correct any dark marks or inflammation.
I do however have a birthmark and dark circles under my eyes so I use my orange corrector and them Rimmel London’s Stay matte concealer which is 2 shades lighter than my foundation to brighten under eyes. I like a matte concealer even though I’m doing a glowy look because anything dewy under my eyes just makes my dark circles more pronounced.
Now for the GLOW! Using Milani Strobelight Liquid Highlighter, I apply to it all the high points of my face- cheekbones, brow bone, tip and bridge of my nose and cupids bow, blending in the a beauty sponge.
You can contour if you would like but I love the Maybelline Fit me blush in berry because it gives a nice contour and flush at the same time. Warming up but still giving my full cheeks some definition.
For the very last bit of glow, I add Maybelline Facestudio Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter on top of the liquid highlight so I can shine.
To finish off the look with Milani’s Stay Glossy lipgloss. I also found this in the store but you can get a similar one online here and it’s a plumper which I love.
I hope you guys like this look! Honestly, it’s my go to all year round. You can use as many or as little of these products as you like to achieve the perfect look for you. Don’t forget to check out more of Walmart’s huge beauty and the #HereForEveryBeauty campaign.
